Fastnet Lighthouse to Baltimore on June 14th. 2023. 20.5Km in 07:01:40.

A calm morning start at 9am from the lighthouse with Marie Watson and Brian Foster looking after me and Nathan as official observer with Ciaran as the Radiance Skipper.

Water temperature holding above 15C for June was a blessing and I made the most of it and kept my head down and powered into the swim.

Once I touched the Rock we were off and the hours melted away as I knew I had the training done over the winter months. The first feed seemed to come around very quickly and had follow up feeds set at 40 minute intervals.

A handy way to track my progress, knocking 2km out between feeds.

By the time we reached the Beacon, I was delighted to have Brian for a bit of company and even a boat or two wishing us well.

The harbour was definitely a welcome sight and knew from doing previous Sherkin Swims I was on the last 2km or so.

Landing on the slipway and stumbling out above the waterline marked my longest swim to date and delighted to achieved it.

Can highly recommend it as a swim for your bucket list and many thanks to the lads at Fastnet Swim and my team for a great day out.
