Fastnet itself is a beautiful, and iconic swim that takes place in the shadow of the majestic and Fastnet Rock Lighthouse which is an historic landmark. When I saw a picture of the lighthouse and did a little more research about the swim, I knew that I wanted the opportunity to swim Fastnet. The swim itself is a challenge with currents and temperature variations, but it is a challenge that is well worth the effort. And, of course, there is the bonus of the incredible sea life that usually accompanies you on this swim. I had a Minke whale following me for a few minutes! This is one of my favourite swims as it is not just a swim but also an adventure. I felt very safe with such a professional crew…. Nathan, Noel and Kieran were very welcoming and extremely supportive. I appreciated their constant communication throughout the year leading up to the swim and being so patient with all my swimmer questions. Thank you so much to the Fastnet team for giving me such an amazing experience of a lifetime! Highly recommend this swim!
